Exporting by using the Clipboard

Although you can export your artwork as a vector or bitmapped image on disk, which can be imported into another application, sometimes it's faster and easier to use the Clipboard. For example, you can copy objects from your Expression Design document by clicking Copy on the Edit menu, and then paste the artwork into Microsoft PowerPoint or Microsoft Expression Blend.

However, the result you get when you paste into another application depends on what Clipboard file formats that application can read. Microsoft Expression Design can save several different file types to the Clipboard, including Windows BMP, Adobe Illustrator Clipboard Format (AICB), and, when copying or cutting text, Plain Text. Note that to copy plain text, you must have selected the text with the Text tool rather than with one of the selection tools.

Expression Design can also copy XAML to the Clipboard, for pasting into a XAML-aware application such as Microsoft Expression Blend. The XAML code is determined by the settings in the Clipboard (XAML) page of the Options dialog box.

Note that the image resolution of the image on the Clipboard is based on the current document resolution.
